CEAT Scholars Endowment Program
The CEAT Scholars Program is an eleven-year old program designed to significantly impact the quality of students entering one of the fields of study in engineering. The success of the program has greatly exceeded original expectations. The purposes of the program are to accelerate professional and leadership development, stimulate intellectual growth, develop international perspectives, develop career awareness and cultural perspectives and develop interpersonal skills. The approaches used include foreign travel, regional and national tours, personal contact with industry leaders, special lectures and personal development. CEAT believes that participation in this one-of-a-kind program allows students to more fully develop their natural potential.

CEAT Graduate Fellowship Endowment Program
The CEAT Graduate Fellowship Program was conceived to significantly impact the quality of graduate students attracted to the engineering graduate programs at OSU. OSU’s research program is very strong and encompasses several areas of national prominence. Our external funding of $15 million per year with approximately 70 research faculty, places us high among our peers in dollars/faculty member. Our greatest challenge is our ability to attract premium graduate students from top schools and returnees from industry, especially at the doctoral level. Considering the funds available in all graduate engineering programs, CEAT only has a handful of graduate fellowships to award each year. Annual earnings from a $5 million endowment would be used to establish approximately 25-30 fellowships each year at a level of $7,000 to $10,000 each, thereby allowing us to be competitive for the best candidates.

CEAT Special Programs Fund
Programs such as K-12 Outreach Initiatives encourage students to consider areas of math and science for their educational pursuits later in life. Focused activities and events help K-12 students relate to engineering concepts and imagine themselves having an impact on society. Other special programs include the Legal Studies Program in CEAT that helps prepare engineers to deal with patents, copyrights and intellectual property issues. Offering an On-line MS degree in Engineering and Technology helps professionals in the field retain and upgrade their current skills, making them more competitive in the work place. The Engineering Entrepreneurial Center allows students to take concepts and research to the market place and the Integrated Renewable Energy System takes the best practices, knowledge and skills from CEAT and applies them toward solving and addressing renewable energy concepts and systems. The excellence of such programs is only possible with private support.
