Jameson Family Foundation Gift Ensures Lasting Fellowship
When Dr. John H. Jameson started counting the family members who have attended Oklahoma State University (OSU) he couldn’t do it on two hands. Well over 15 family members spanning generations call OSU their alma mater.
For the Jameson family, OSU is more than just an academic institution. For years it has been a place for family gatherings and celebrations.
Dr. Jameson, ’70 zoology graduate and OSU Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame recipient, and his wife Cathy, OSU Foundation Board of Governors member, enjoy gathering at the ConocoPhillips OSU Alumni Center to reminisce over decades of memories.
“Our family and friends are most important in our life,” remarks John. “Reconnecting with old friends takes you back to your days here at OSU.”
The creation of the ConocoPhillips OSU Alumni Center offers a vehicle for families, like the Jamesons, to gather and celebrate the important things in life – family fellowship.
Dr. Brett Jameson, John and Cathy’s son, is a current member of the OSU Foundation Board of Governors and together with his wife, Amy, he shares an enduring commitment to OSU. Both ’94 graduates, Brett and Amy are strong supporters of a variety of OSU endeavors, especially women’s athletics.
Although the Jamesons have supported various groups independently over the years, their ongoing philanthropic focus will be a cooperative effort: through the Jameson Family Foundation.
A recent gift made by the Jameson Family Foundation to the ConocoPhillips OSU Alumni Center names the stairway in honor of the Jameson Family and earmarks their place in OSU history.
“This contribution to the building is clearly more than a name on the stairway,” states Brett. “We wanted to be a part of something special, and our hope is this gift will ensure other families and ours can reunite in the Alumni Center for generations.”
John shares those same sentiments with his son.
“Our gifts are family focused, and this gift to the Alumni Center speaks to the heart of what we hold dearest: family,” said John. “The Alumni Center will always be a gathering place for our family and friends.”
