Jean Van Delinder
Co-Chair, General Faculty and Faculty Council

Jean is Associate Professor of Sociology; she joined the OSU faculty in 1996.  She attended the University of Minnesota where she earned a degree in Humanities and then went on to earn her master’s in American Studies and doctorate in sociology at the University of Kansas. 
 
Jean is very dedicated to serving her community, serving on many committees; the most recent are Director of Women's Studies at OSU, 2005-2008; OSU Representative, Faculty Advisory Council, Oklahoma State Board of Regents for Higher Education, September 2007-December 2008; Chair, Academic Standards and Policies Committee, 2006-07; Grade Appeals Committee, 2006-2008; Diversity Assessment, 2007-2008; Interdisciplinary Task Force, 2006-07; Task Force for Institutional Diversity, 2005-06; National Screening Committee, U.S. Student Fulbright Program, India, 2007-2008.
Jean is also involved in many other professional and community organizations.

Jean is originally from Hibbing, the small town in northern Minnesota that also produced Bob Dylan. In her spare time, she takes ballet, yoga and pilates and she likes to travel.
