Students are changing, and the way in which they use libraries is changing too. Today’s library is a destination that supports new, technology-driven teaching, learning and research. We offer everything from books to digital databases to suitable spaces for students to work together in small project-oriented groups.
There are many ways to show your support for OSU, but few gifts have the far reaching impact on a student’s education that a gift to the Library has. Your gift is a gift for every student.

Second Floor Renovation
A gift of $1.3 million will renovate and endow the Reading Room and the Special Collections area of the Edmon Low Library. The renovation and refurbishment of the Reading Room will include expanded electrical capacity, enhanced lighting, upgraded furnishings and other details necessary to provide an efficient, effective, and attractive study space for students. Just beyond the Reading Room a glass enclosure will expand the Special Collections department allowing the Library to showcase some of its unique items and provide a visible and attractive public consultation space. |

Fourth Floor Silent Study Area
A gift of $75,000 will renovate the 4th floor silent study area of the Edmon Low Library, one of the building’s most popular study spaces. Recently, the lounge chairs were updated and ottomans were added. Next, we want to update the tables and chairs. Ideally, tables will be equipped with network and electricity ports, so students can easily use the laptops they check out from the Library. A donation of this size will allow us to complete plans for this area including an attractive railing to separate it from the walkways.

Named Collection Endowments
You can help us provide the strongest possible library collections by funding a named collection endowment at the OSU Library. A named collection endowment begins at $10,000 and provides ongoing support for the acquisition of library materials. Library endowments are usually named for the donor and dedicated to purchases in the area set by the donor. Each book purchased from an endowment is recognized with a customized bookplate designed to the donor’s specification and a note in the online OSU Library Catalog indicating the book was purchased with funds from that endowment.

Group Study Rooms
The Library is seeking endowed funds to furnish, maintain, and update technology in the group study rooms of the Edmon Low Library. A gift of $50,000 will name one of the four remaining unnamed rooms. Priorities for expenditures are updating technology and furnishings in the room, and maintenance of the room. These spaces provide an ideal setting for students working on group projects. The rooms are well lit and are furnished with conference-style tables and dry erase boards. |

Student Success Center
The centerpiece of the OSU Library’s bold plan for the 21st century, the Student Success Center. Located on the first floor of the Edmon Low Library, it will offer 24-hour access to computers, circulation/reserve/interlibrary loan departments, group study rooms, and space for individual study. The funds for this project will provide extensive renovation and refurbishment for the area including electrical upgrades, new furniture appropriate for use with computers and collaborative work, small enclosed group study rooms, an improved circulation and general reference desk, a small video and film viewing room, and a classroom for library instruction. A gift of $2,000,000 will make this project possible. |

Women’s Archives
The Women's Archives Endowment supports the costs associated with acquiring, processing, preserving and promoting materials for the Archives. Although income from the Women's Archives Endowment is able to support several ongoing projects, additional funds are needed for collection acquisition and for making existing collections available to scholars and the public via the Web. Donations of any size can be made directly to the Women's Archives and will be used to support the Archives' mission. Interested donors can also underwrite an entire project. There are many potential projects, including oral history projects like the Women in the Dust Bowl Project, that require additional funding to initiate or complete.
