The Oklahoma State University Foundation announces the addition of Jacob Longan and Cody Murphy to its staff and the promotion of Diane Wolfe and Shane Crawford.
Longan, a Stillwater native, serves the Foundation as a communications specialist. He provides creative assistance to marketing and development teams, generating a variety of publications for internal and external audiences, ensuring proper publicity, and developing messages through a variety of mediums.
Longan comes to the Foundation from the Stillwater NewsPress, where he worked the past 10 ½ years. He started as a sportswriter before receiving promotions to assistant sports editor and then news editor. He earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from OSU in 2005 and is working toward a master’s in mass communication there. He is a third-generation Cowboy with several family members having attended the university. His wife, Jessica, is also a Stillwater native and OSU alumna. She teaches kindergarten at Highland Park Elementary School in Stillwater.
They have a daughter, Taylor, 2 ½. In his spare time, Longan enjoys reading, watching movies and listening to a variety of music.
Murphy is also from an OSU family. In fact, both Longan and Murphy had grandfathers who taught at the university.
Murphy, a Glencoe native, is the Foundation’s scholarship coordinator. He will handle scholarship donor and recipient correspondence, review spending policies and manage the President’s Distinguished Scholars/Distinguished Graduate Fellowship programs. He worked as a MetLife financial services representative the past three years, handling investments and insurance sales.
The 2002 OSU agribusiness-finance graduate is also married to a Stillwater native, Kandice, who works for OSU’s undergraduate admissions department. Murphy also has several family members who are OSU graduates.
Murphy and his wife have a daughter, Jillian, 6. In his spare time, Murphy enjoys hunting, fishing, UFC and OSU sports.
Crawford moves up to associate vice president for corporate and foundation relations. He had been on the Foundation’s Athletic Development team since December 2003.
Wolfe has been promoted to director of accounting. She has worked in the accounting department since January 1993.
The Oklahoma State University Foundation serves as the private fundraising organization for OSU, as designated by the OSU Regents. Its mission is to unite donor and university passions and priorities to achieve excellence.
